Dress Code

Camp Creideamh is a Catholic faith camp and we take seriously our responsibility to promote Christian virtue, including the virtue of modesty.

The 2021 camp will be a mixed camp with boys and girls attending. Therefore, the dress code at the camp will be in keeping with the Catholic values of purity, modesty and healthy relationships between the sexes.

Therefore certain items of clothing that may be popular with teens right now would not be appropriate for a mixed camp. Most especially very sheer, tight leggings, short shorts and revealing tight tops. These are not appropriate to the values of a Catholic faith camp and certainly not suitable in a mixed setting.

For sports activities tracksuit bottoms, loose fitting, would be fine.

Length of shorts? Bermuda style shorts (almost knee length) are a good option.

For boys, GAA or soccer shorts are permitted.

Young Catholic boys and girls will be leaders of their peers in the virtues of modesty and chastity. We aim to show that the human body can be appreciated for its beauty and elegance, enhanced by creative and stylish fashions, without the exhibitionism and decadence very common in the world we live in.

If you are in any doubt about the suitability of a particular item of clothing please do not hesitate to contact camp volunteer Geraldine Heffernan. She may be reached on 086 0722447. Her gmail account is geraldinehef (put the usual gmail.com domain name at the end of this). Please feel free to send Geraldine, by Whatsapp or email, a photo of you wearing any item of clothing if you have any doubts about its suitability. She will let you know if it is appropriate.

Thank you for your support of this dress code.

Let us always give honour to Our Saviour Jesus Christ and His Blessed Mother.
